Australian-owned Firebird Metals Limited (ASX: FRB, Firebird or the Company) is
pleased to provide an update on its activities for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 (“the
Quarter”).
Firebird CEO, Mr Ron Mitchell, commented:
“The June quarter marked the transition of the Australian Demonstration Plant from planning
into delivery. Securing our purpose-fit Perth facility in Osborne Park and placing all key long-
lead equipment orders were two defining milestones that together commence the busiest and
most transformative operational phase in Firebird’s history.
“The placement of equipment orders unlocked the first payment of our A$2 million ARENA
Battery Breakthrough Initiative cash grant, with site readiness activities underway in
preparation for equipment dispatch to Australia in the coming months. Subsequent to quarter
end, independent international customer testing confirmed our ability to produce high purity
manganese sulphate exceeding 99.99% with extremely low impurities, providing valuable
third-party validation of our processing technology.
“As we advance the ADP toward assembly and commissioning later this year, we continue to
make strong progress in engagement with prospective customers, strategic partners and
potential funding counterparties. We look forward to updating the market on these initiatives
in the coming quarters.”
Manganese-Rich Battery Strategy: From Planning to Delivery
Australian Demonstration Plant: Perth Site Secured
On 30 April 2026, Firebird executed a multi-year lease agreement over a 775 sqm
purpose-fit light industrial facility in Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia, to house the
Company’s flagship Australian Demonstration Plant (ADP). The facility was secured
following an extensive site selection process encompassing technical, commercial and
regulatory due diligence across multiple candidate locations.
The multi-year lease with options to extend, provides long-term operational security to
scale demonstration activity and transition toward commercial-scale deployment.
Osborne Park is a well-established light industrial precinct located approximately 7 km
from the Perth CBD, offering sufficient three-phase grid power, appropriate zoning, a
deep local engineering skills base and excellent accessibility for customer, shareholder
and strategic partner site visits.
The ADP will be the only fully integrated manganese concentrate-to-cathode active
material (CAM) processing capability outside China, transforming what has traditionally
been a fragmented, multi-facility, multi-country supply chain into a single integrated
process. Execution of the lease satisfied a key deliverable under Milestone 1 of the
Company’s A$2,000,000 ARENA Battery Breakthrough Initiative (BBI) grant.
3
Following execution of the lease, the Company advanced detailed fit-out design and
procurement of long-lead equipment, enabling Firebird to progress directly to site
mobilisation.

All Key Equipment Orders Placed for the ADP
On 16 June 2026, Firebird announced that formal equipment orders had been placed for
all long-lead items required to construct the ADP, completing key deliverables under
Milestone 1 of the Company’s ARENA grant funding. The orders were placed by Firebird’s
wholly owned Chinese subsidiary, Jinshi Firebird Trading Co., Ltd, under a fully executed
Intercompany Procurement and Sourcing Agreement and Equipment Export Sales
Contract.
The orders cover four integrated equipment and services packages:
• HPMSM and precursor cathode active material (p-CAM) pilot equipment;
• manganese-based CAM pilot equipment;
• testing and analytical instruments;
• and technical services covering detailed design, commissioning, sample
production and operator training.
All equipment is being manufactured to Australian electrical, voltage, cable and safety
standards, incorporating certified components from tier-one brands. In conjunction with
the orders, Firebird executed a licence agreement permitting export of the contracted
equipment and granting exclusive use of the associated technology patents underpinning
the ADP process flowsheet. ADP development remains on schedule and on budget, with
all key equipment expected to arrive in Australia early Q4 2026, followed by construction
and commissioning at the Perth site.

LMR and MFP Cathode Programs: Building Toward Customer Samples
Firebird continued to advance its lithium manganese rich (LMR) technology development
programs during the Quarter. Development work on the Company’s LMR cathode
technology progressed at the China Pilot Plant, with initial LMR cathode performance
results anticipated to be released in the September quarter. The LMR program continues
to be co-funded by strategic partner Taza Metal Technologies, which has committed to
fund 50% of the LMR research and development activities. The manganese iron
phosphate (MFP) precursor qualification program also continued, building on results
demonstrating that all key technical and performance parameters exceed Chinese
industry standards (T/CIAPS0029–2023), including approximately 33% lower impurity and
approximately 25% higher tap density, underpinning ongoing customer sampling and
commercial engagement activities.
ADP Development Activities: A Catalyst-Rich Window
Development of the ADP accelerated materially during the Quarter, transitioning from
planning into active delivery in line with the Company's 2026 development timeline.
Key progress included:
Site Secured: Firebird executed a long-term, capital-light lease over a 775 sqm purpose-
fit facility in Osborne Park, Perth, satisfying a key Milestone 1 deliverable under the ARENA
BBI grant and enabling fit-out design and site mobilisation to commence.
Equipment Orders Placed: All key long-lead equipment orders were placed during the
Quarter across four integrated equipment and services packages spanning the ADP's fully
integrated flowsheet, from manganese concentrate through HPMSM, p-CAM and finished
CAM, commencing a short-term fabrication and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
program with shipment to Australia anticipated early Q4 2026.
Engineering, Licence and Design: Detailed fit-out design progressed, integrating China-
developed process know-how with Western engineering, safety and regulatory standards
(including AS1210/ASME-compliant pressure vessels and advanced automation systems).
Firebird also executed a licence agreement permitting export of the contracted
equipment and granting exclusive use of the technology patents underpinning the ADP
process flowsheet.
Firebird is engaging with reputable Australian-based engineering companies to support
key engineering, commissioning and operational activities for the ADP, ensuring the
Company executes a seamless integration of the ADP flowsheet in accordance with
Australian standards in relation to safety, risk and operational management systems.
The ADP will produce representative samples of HPMSM, p-CAM and CAM for initial
product validation with OEMs, cell manufacturers and cathode producers, facilitating a
commercialisation pathway via technology licensing agreements, joint ventures and
product sales.

A$2,000,000 ARENA Grant Awarded: Milestone 1 Advancing
On 23 April 2026, Firebird was awarded a milestone structured A$2,000,000 grant from
the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under its Battery Breakthrough
Initiative (BBI) Program to support the development of the ADP. The award followed an
extensive due diligence process, including independent technical review, and represents
a significant endorsement of Firebird’s proprietary manganese processing technology
and the strategic importance of establishing cathode active material production capability
in a Western jurisdiction. Grant activities are structured across three milestones: Project
Commencement, Site Selection and Equipment Procurement (Milestone 1); Construction
and Equipment Installation (Milestone 2); and Commissioning and Operations (Milestone
3).
During the Quarter, Firebird progressed key deliverables under Milestone 1 of its
A$2,000,000 non-dilutive, cash-based ARENA grant. Execution of the Perth site lease and
the placement of all long-lead equipment orders form part of the Milestone 1
deliverables, progressing the Company toward receipt of the Milestone 1 cash payment.
The ARENA grant is non-dilutive and does not grant ARENA any rights to Firebird's current
or future intellectual property. Grant funding will be matched by the Company's existing
funds at hand and directly supports equipment purchasing, commissioning and
operation of the ADP.
The Company continues to receive strong inbound interest from potential strategic
partners, including OEMs, battery producers and end-users seeking access to non-China
sources of manganese-based battery materials, and will provide further updates as
material developments arise.
Corporate and Investor Engagement
Active Investor Engagement Program
Firebird maintained an active investor, industry and government engagement program
throughout the Quarter, engaging brokers, institutions, family offices and sophisticated
retail investors on the Company's concentrate-to-cathode strategy, the role of LMFP and
LMR, the ADP development pathway, and Firebird's IP positioning in a tightening battery
materials market. CEO Ron Mitchell presented at the Critical Minerals Australia
Conference in Perth as an invited speaker, where he also joined the opening panel on
building global partnerships for secure supply chains, and presented to investors at The
Stock Network's ASX Gems Investment Conference. Ron also attended a number of
7
industry and government events during the Quarter, including the AmCham WA Critical
Minerals Business Lunch featuring the WA Minister for Mines and Petroleum, Hon David
Michael MLA, and the US Consul General, a Gilbert + Tobin boardroom dinner with The
Hon. Ambassador Joe Hockey (ret.), and a Macquarie Group resources lunch with Chief
Economist Ric Deverell. The Company intends to continue this program throughout 2026
and welcomes further approaches for one-on-one or small group meetings.
Strategic and government alignment
Firebird's integrated manganese-to-cathode technology platform and the ADP remain
strongly aligned with global government priorities around critical minerals processing,
sovereign battery manufacturing capability, supply chain resilience and Net Zero 2050
commitments.
The Board is confident that the combination of Firebird's independently validated
technology, secured IP position, proven pilot plant results, and the strategic imperative
for non-Chinese sources of manganese-based cathode materials positions the Company
well to access support to successfully implement the ADP and broader commercialisation
pathway.
Firebird continues to engage with Western OEMs, battery and cathode manufacturers,
and strategic investors to support sample qualification and commercial partnership
discussions linked to the ADP.
Outlook: Near-Term Catalysts (Q3 CY2026)
The approximately 90-day equipment fabrication period represents a catalyst-rich de-
risking window during which multiple value-driving milestones are expected.
Shareholders should anticipate a steady stream of material updates across the period,
including:
• LMR cathode performance results: Initial Lithium Manganese Rich (LMR)
cathode performance results from the China Pilot Plant, to be released.

arrival of all equipment, followed by assembly and commissioning activities in Q4.
• ARENA milestone payments and partnering: Further cash payments under the
ARENA milestone progression, together with strategic partner updates and
broader corporate developments as they arise.
8
Subsequent to the End of the Quarter
Subsequent to the end of the quarter, on 2 July 2026, Firebird announced that
independent international customer testing had confirmed the Company’s production of
high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) exceeding 99.99%. In June 2026,
a potential international customer conducted independent testing of a Firebird HPMSM
sample produced at the Company’s Hunan pilot plant and Firebird’s in-line impurity
removal process, benchmarked against China national industry standards.
Across all measured impurity parameters, the Firebird sample significantly exceeded the
China industry standards, with the majority of elements recorded below 0.5 ppm
detection limits, with the manganese content of 32.6 Wt.% exceeding the Chinese
Superior Grade benchmark. These results provide valuable third-party validation of
Firebird’s ability to consistently produce battery-grade equivalent HPMSM and reinforce
engagement with prospective customers and strategic partners ahead of the production
of Australian-made qualification samples from the ADP.
Oakover Manganese Project, Western Australia
Oakover is Firebird's strategic 100% owned, upstream JORC resource intended to secure
long-term manganese supply for the battery materials business. The project hosts
favourable, near-surface mineralisation and prior metallurgical test work has
demonstrated the potential to produce battery-grade feed.
No significant activity or expenditure was undertaken at the Oakover
Project during the Quarter, with work limited to tenure maintenance and
desktop planning while focus remained on downstream LMFP/LMR and
ADP technology initiatives.
