Last Orders: The ASX saw the best IPO of 2021 so far today; but falls 0.73 per cent
Stockhead's end-of-day market wrap notes that Firebird Metals (ASX:FRB) delivered the best ASX debut of 2021 so far, with shares rising 198% on its first day of trading. That beat the previous 2021 record set by WA telco Pentanet, which closed its first day 138% higher.
The wrap explains that Firebird was spun out of Firefly Resources with the Oakover manganese project as its flagship asset. On the same day, the broader ASX 200 slipped 0.73% while the Emerging Companies Index gained 1%.
